The Power of the Race
A cinematic reveal film for Qiddiya’s new horse racing venue, created for the Saudi Cup and shaped around movement, ambition and the future of the sport.
The Challenge
Developed within a highly compressed timeframe, the project required a creative approach that could maximise a limited set of assets while still feeling cinematic and ambitious.
I centred the film on the relationship between jockey and horse in the moments before the gates open. The tension, anticipation and trust between two athletes became the emotional foundation of the story, building naturally towards the reveal of Qiddiya's future home of horse racing
Production & Technology
To bring the future racecourse to life, we converted the architectural model into Unreal Engine, allowing us to previsualise camera movement, lighting and the final reveal.
The final sequence combined live-action photography, digital matte painting, compositing and generative AI. Used as part of a wider filmmaking workflow, AI helped accelerate visual development before extensive post-production refinement and finishing.
Working closely with director Craig Bingham and the post-production team, we created a seamless transition between the live-action and future-facing imagery, maintaining a consistent cinematic language across the film.
