A Revolutionary rethink of hospital design
Transforming a complex architectural vision into a clear and compelling cinematic story.
The Concept
OMA's Hospital of the Future imagined a new model for healthcare, where architecture, technology and patient care come together to create a more responsive hospital environment.
As Creative Director and Director, I was responsible for shaping the narrative and directing the film, turning an incredibly complex vision into a story that could be understood by everyone, not just architects and healthcare specialists.
A visual language shaped by medicine, architecture and cinema
Creative Journey
My role was to distil the concept into a clear visual narrative that could be understood intuitively through the film itself.
The pacing and camera language were deliberately restrained, allowing the audience to move through the hospital in a way that felt considered and progressive.
The visual language was equally intentional. Rather than applying a generic futuristic aesthetic, we developed a style rooted in medical references, drawing inspiration from the clean, hyper-sterile qualities of clinical environments and the materiality of pharmaceuticals.
These references informed the abstract visual sequences used to explain how the hospital operates, helping simplify complex systems while giving the film a distinctive and authentic identity.
